Time dilation happens when there is a difference in
speed or gravity between two different observers. It
has been shown that very sensitive atomic clocks put
at different altitudes on earth (so they will experience
different gravity) keep time differently. If a person got
on a rocket and flew and very high speed, their clock
would show that less time had passed inside the
rocket than on Earth.Time dilation is the difference in elapsed time
between two clocks that are in motion relative to
each other. Time dilation is also the difference in
elapsed time between two clocks that are
experiencing gravitational fields of different
magnitudes.
